The first time I heard the word ‘boota’ was when I heard Imli Ka Boota from Saudagar (1991).
And recently, I
heard it in a song titled Patta Patta Boota Boota.
The latter happens
to be the subject of this post, and the only song from the 1972 film Ek
Nazar in my collection.
It was rendered by
Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi.
The song was
written by Majrooh Sultanpuri, and composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
By the way, I looked the word boota’ up online, and found out that it could be translated to, “A plant”.
